People have different thoughts regarding claps. I have written few articles on them. Here are few:

1. If you always clap 50 times for every article you read your claps maybe of low value to the writer. Yes, it increases chances of making that article viral.

2. If you just give one clap, they may think you are a bot. Yet some still give you one or two claps. 10-15 claps is still good enough according to some readers/writers.

3. People give high claps or full 50 to trash articles too. That may unnecessarily make some trash articles viral, while people who write better ones if they don't get the same amount of claps may feel demotivated in the long run.
