This happened to my Dad. All his friends cancer ghosted him when he got 4th stage cancer. I had to leave my job and be with him as he didn't had anyone with him. Mom felt helpless. None of his friends who usually comes every day or the other day showed up. But dad did survive. Now he made other friends.
